ABOUT

Designed to help counter the exodus of artists from New York City - and a growing impression that the city had turned unfriendly to creatives - Curate NYC launched a career-building digital platform that provided locally-based artists with free and direct access to top curators across New York City and around the world.  

The site attracted the participation of thousands of artists. Each entry was reviewed by dozens of gallery curators across New York City, who then organized citywide group exhibitions at their spaces. Dozens of chief museum curators around the globe also reviewed each entry and organized online shows featuring their favorite works. 

Curate NYC built exposure, sales, connections, and community for New York City artists; generated sales for local galleries and cultural tourism for their surrounding neighborhoods; and helped market New York City’s image as a cultural hub.
